Reminders
A reminder that cannot be argued with is a reminder you will mute
The moment a reminder is wrong, it becomes noise. The fix is not a louder alert.

The dismissal habit
Every reminder you swipe away without acting teaches you that reminders are swipe-able. After a few weeks that reflex is faster than reading.
This is why people end up with notifications they genuinely wanted, arriving on time, and doing nothing at all.
Renegotiation beats repetition
If you cannot do the thing at seven, the useful response is a new time, not the same alert at eight and nine.
Because Ari arrives as a message, you can answer it. Say you are out until eleven, and the follow-up moves to the morning rather than repeating into a wall.
Why a message survives what a banner does not
A banner is a broadcast. A message is a conversation, and conversations have a next turn built in.
That is the practical reason text-based follow-up outlasts notification-based follow-up: it fails softer, and it can be corrected instead of dismissed.
