The full Terms below are what count.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Ari. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. We may ask you to confirm your age and may suspend accounts that do not.
2. Your account
You can create an account by messaging Ari on iMessage, Telegram, or Discord, or by signing up at textari.chat with an email address or Google. It is one account across every channel you connect. You are responsible for the channels paired to your account and for the messages you send. Keep your devices and messaging apps secure — anyone with access to a paired channel can reach your account.
3. Use of the Service
Use Ari for anything lawful. The short list of things you may not do is in our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms. In short: do not break the law, do not harm other people, and do not attack the Service, abuse its limits, scrape it with automated scripts, or access anyone else's data. You are responsible for any content or communications you submit through the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate it, with or without notice.
Your use of Ari Computer, skills, the browser, and mini apps is also subject to this section. You agree not to use any of them to do anything illegal, to attack, probe, or scan other systems or networks, to circumvent the sandbox, network limits, or other technical controls of the Service, or to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages. If you violate this section, we may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice.
4. The Service is AI
Ari is an artificial intelligence. Ari is not a person, and Ari's responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Ari runs on AI models from third-party providers. We do not control and do not guarantee what those models produce or do. Ari does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional or for emergency services.
If you are in distress or danger of self-harm, contact your local emergency number immediately. In the U.S. and Canada you can call or text 988to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to Ari. By sending content to the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, store, and display it for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the Service for you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content. Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. What Ari makes for you
Everything Ari writes, creates, or builds for you ("Output") is yours to use for any purpose, including commercially. You can publish it, sell it, edit it, or share it. To the extent we hold any rights in Output, we give them to you, and we claim no ownership of it. Because of how AI works, Output may not be unique to you and may contain errors or "hallucinations," so check it before relying on it.
7. Third-party integrations
Ari can connect to third-party services (such as Google, Discord, Notion, or Todoist) at your direction. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages, content, or policy changes.
8. Your Ari Computer
Your Ari Computer is your own isolated environment. You control what runs on the computer, what you install, and which skills you add. You are responsible for that software, for complying with its licenses, and for what the software does, including every consequence of running it. Third-party skills, packages, and programs come from their authors, not from Ari or us. We do not endorse or warrant them, and a safety scan is not a review or a guarantee.
9. Skills
Built-in skills are provided "as is", subject to Section 14. Skills you install or create are your responsibility, including their content, their licenses, and their effects. Ari's safety scan of a skill is a best-effort warning. The scan does not guarantee that a skill is safe, and a skill that passes the scan remains your responsibility.
10. Actions taken at your direction
When Ari acts at your direction, the action is yours. That includes browser actions, purchases, messages sent on your behalf, and actions taken by mini apps you ask Ari to build or run. You are responsible for what you ask Ari to do, for what you approve, and for the results, including charges, messages that cannot be recalled, and third-party account consequences. Review what Ari proposes before you approve it.
11. Fees, payments, and refunds
Some features require payment. By submitting a payment method, you authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge applicable fees and taxes. Subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the next billing period begins. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. You are responsible for applicable taxes.
Payments for a billing period that has started are generally non-refundable, and canceling does not refund the current term. We refund duplicate charges and verified billing errors, and we refund or credit you when a failure on our side left the Service unusable for an extended period. See our Refund Policy for details and how to request a refund.
12. Communications consent
By messaging Ari or providing us with your email or phone number, you consent to receive transactional messages from us on that channel — replies, reminders, account notices, and service updates. Message and data rates may apply. You can ask Ari to stop checking in, or stop messaging Ari, at any time. We do not send promotional messages without separate consent, and you can unsubscribe from any commercial email by following the unsubscribe link in it. Our messaging practices are designed to comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and applicable U.S. messaging rules.
13. Termination
You can stop using Ari at any time. To delete your account and its data, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, or tell us which channel is paired to it. We may ask you to confirm the request from that email or channel. We delete your account within 30 days of confirming the request, except information we must keep as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where required by law. If we end a paid account for any other reason, we refund the unused part of your current billing period. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including content license, Output, your responsibility for your computer, skills, and directed actions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any Output will be accurate. We also do not warrant any third-party skill, package, or software, any skill you install or create, any safety scan result, or the results of any action taken at your direction.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any outcome arising from your decisions or conduct while using the Service. This includes anything that runs on your Ari Computer, any skill, package, or software you install or create, any software license issue, any miss by Ari's safety scan, and any browser action, purchase, message, or mini app action taken at your direction. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability — in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnity
If someone else brings a claim against us because of what you did, you agree to indemnify and hold us and our affiliates harmless from that claim and its losses, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees). This covers claims arising from your violation of these Terms or the law, your content, your violation of someone else's rights, software you run on your Ari Computer, skills you install or create, and actions taken at your direction.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and we agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Alberta, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you a different right. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally.
18. Assignment, severability, and entire agreement
You may not transfer or assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The version date above will change and material updates will be surfaced to you, in the Service or by email, at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to an update, you can stop using Ari and ask us to delete your account before the update takes effect.
